Design Process: I was contracted by Monumental Markets to create branding for their newest self-serve market opening in The U.S. Department of Education federal building in Washington, D.C. The client requested a prominent display at the entrance of the cafeteria that incorporated the existing orange color scheme of the space and the green Monumental Markets brand color. The use of buzzwords was intended to evoke a desire for healthy food options. In the second wall wrap, the design was intended to highlight the brand pillars and draw attention to the checkout area of the cafeteria.
Working with a junior designer, we formulated “buzzwords” for the wrap and conceived a color scheme to match the client’s wishes. I also measured the space for accuracy and prepared files for large-scale printing. Working with the Monumental installation team, the wraps were installed on schedule for the market’s grand opening.
